Do have some burdock? The return of

Ah, the joys of translation ...
Right now, a question we tickle the office: how to translate this: バーダック
The more experienced may recognize the name of His Japanese father Goku in Dragon Ball Z, namely ...
And that's where it gets stuck. Indeed, there is no official translation of the name in alphabet. In France, many people use Baddack but Bardack. USA is Bardock who wins because the バー can read "Baa", "Bar" but also "Bur. Coincidentally, all Saiyan have names of plants, plants or vegetables. Our man with the name of a plant is called in English "Burdock," burdock or French. Hence the nice photo of this species Thistle which nobody except the author has probably heard of ...

So you could call the character "Burdock," except that Toriyama is a funny guy (yes, I swear, read Dr. Slump, ignorant band!) And just as he named Goku "Kakarot "(not Karot / carrot so for those who have a little too blank in place of the brain), he also replaced the dock-by-dack.

So after much procrastination and philosophical questions-introspective (but not too far either), it was decided to call it "Burdack! This does not include video games and older versions of the call Baddack, newly translated manga choosing Berduck or Americans continue to call Bardock, since in any case there is no approved version. Ah, the joys of translation. And to think it was a movie nothing to him when nobody knows how to write his name!
